In a battle of two high powered defenses in Baltimore, the 2000 Ravens shutout the '79 Steelers. Two second quarter Matt Stover field goals was all the scoring in the game as the Raven defense didn't allow the Steelers in the red zone once in the game. Pittsburgh had a missed field goal and two criticial turnovers that killed any scoring chances.

On a gloomy, rainy day at San Francisco, the 1994 49ers easily disposed of the Cinderella 1968 Jets. San Fran had a 17 point second quarter highlighted by two Steve Young to Brent Jones touchdown passes. Doug Brien added four field goals for the Niners to account for the rest of their scoring. Joe Namath struggled for New York, throwing for only 104 yards.

Player of the Game: RB John Henry Johnson DET: 18 carries 95 yards one touchdown
In the first overtime game of the tournament, the 1991 Redskins won the OT coin toss and drove down the field, winning on a Chip Lohmiller 34 yard field goal. Washington led 17-10 going into the fourth, but the Lions got a 14 yard rushing touchdown from QB Bobby Layne to tie it with eight minutes left in regulation. Lohmiller missed a 46 yarder as time expired in the fourth, but redeemed himself in the extra period.

Player of the Game: WR Todd Chritstensen LA: six catches 59 yards one touchdown
A Jim Plunkett to Todd Christensen 13 yard pass was the lone touchdown on the day as the '83 Raiders shutout the '62 Packers at Lambeau. Green Bay got just 162 yard of total offense, as both the rushing game of Jim Taylor and Bart Starr's aerial attack struggled badly. All of L.A.'s scoring came in the first half as they preserved a 13-0 lead the entire second half.

Player of the Game: RB Steve Van Buren PHI: 27 carries 139 yards one touchdown, one catch 17 yards
The two-way '49 Eagles went into Lambeau Field and dominated the tough '65 Packers 28-3. Philly relied on the running game of Steve Van Buren, who ran for 139 and a touchdown. Tommy Thompson also threw two touchdown passes early as Philly opened up a 21-0 lead at hafltime. The Packers 110 yards of total offense was terrible as the Eagles smothered their attack.

Player of the Game: RB Emmitt Smith DAL: 24 carries, 108 yards one touchdown, one catch four yards
In a tight battle at Baltimore Memorial, the '92 Cowboys managed to hang on against the Sudden Death '58 Colts. A Troy Aikman to Kelvin MArtin pass and Emmitt Smith touchdown score gave the Cowboys a 14-0 halftime lead, which they would not relinquish in the game. A Johnny Unitas to Raymond Berry touchdown pass was the lone Colt touchdown.

Player of the Game: QB Jim McMahon CHI: 21 of 24 276 yards two touchdowns one interception, six carries 18 yards one touchdown
On a hot and humid day at Texas Stadium, the '85 Bears easily shut down the '95 Cowboys. Dallas actually led at halftime 10-6 after a David Lang 61 yard touchdown run, but Chicago dominated the second half. Jim McMahon threw for two touchdowns and ran in a third and the monsterous defense shut down the Dallas attack.

At a rainy Candlestick Park, the '96 Packers clamped down an stopped the tough '84 49ers. A Brett Favre to Antonio Freeman pass and Dorsey Levens one yard dive accounted for both touchdowns for the Packers. Joe Montana threw for just 111 yards and two picks as the 49ers attack failed to materialize. Wendell Tyler had 115 yards rushing for San Fran.
