Final Four Matchup Previews
1999 St. Louis Rams at 1948 Philadelphia Eagles
The youngest team meets the oldest as the Greatest Show on Turf as picked up the pace more as the tournament has gone out. The '48 Eagles, meanwhile, have slowed down, barely winning over the '54 Browns. The second oldest team in the tournament overall, however has a tough shut down defense that the '99 Rams will have to beat.
1991 Washington Redskins at 1978 Pittsburgh Steelers
The '78 Steelers have been the most consistently dominant team overall, and are favorites in the final four. However, the Steel Curtain has quite a challenge ahead as they meet the powerhouse '91 Redskins. Washington was slowed in the Elite Eight by the '49 Eagles, but the defense stepped up. Can they pull off an upset and defeat the dominant Steel Curtain at Three Rivers?
