This is a new weekly segment for Thursday called the Thursday Top Tens. On here you will see a number of top ten list, some of these are "official" list (such as the ARC Weekly Top 40's top ten songs, and the top ten movies of the week) and some are my own personal top tens (usually league power rankings.) So without further ado, here we go.
Week 18 NFL Power Rankings (selected by me)
1. Indianapolis Colts
2. San Diego Chargers
3. New Orleans Saints
4. Minnesota Vikings
5. Green Bay Packers
6. Dallas Cowboys
7. New England Patriots
8. Cincinnati Bengals
9. Arizona Cardinals
10. Philadelphia Eagles
The Colts and Chargers are clear top two teams in the league. I give the Colts #1 simply because the last two weeks were a mirage, this is the best football team. New Orleans gets #3...for now. They should be prepared to drop below the Vikings pending on their divisonal round opponent. Green Bay and Dallas are the two hottest teams heading into the wild card round accordingly. Despite losing Wes Welker, the Patriots come in at #7 followed by Cincinnati. Arizona and Philadelphia are 9 and 10 after sloppy week 17 games.
Week 10 NBA Power Rankings
1. Los Angles Lakers
2. Cleveland Cavaliers
3. Orlando Magic
4. Dallas Mavericks
5. Boston Celtics
6. Portland Trailblazers
7. Phoenix Suns
8. Atlanta Hawks
9. San Antonio Spurs
10. Houston Rockets
I should give Cleveland #1 after the Lakers loss to the Clippers last night, but I'll give them the benefit of a doubt. Dallas is ahead of Boston based off of the Celtics' injury woes, they have played hard though. Portland, with all their injury issues, has impressed me and is above the Suns for #6. Atlanta is a quietly dangerous team that comes in at #8. A pair of Texas teams round out the list.
Week 15 NHL Power Rankings
1. San Jose Sharks
2. Chicago Blackhawks
3. New Jersey Devils
4. Calgary Flames
5. Washington Capitals
6. Pittsburgh Penguins
7. Buffalo Sabres
8. Phoenix Coyotes
9. Los Angeles Kings
10. Colorado Avalanche
The Sharks are playing just slightly better hockey than the Blackhawks at the time, they are number one. Almost no one can stop the #3 Devils right now. I ranked Calgary a little high here, but they have been red hot since the New Year. Washington has Pittsburgh trumped for the time being. Buffalo is playing sound, consistent hockey at #7. Phoenix is starting to slip, but is still a top ten team. The Kings and Avalanche round out the top spots.
The Top Ten Songs This Week (according to the ARC Top 40)
1. Bad Romance - Lady Gaga
2. Tik Tok - Kesha
3. Empire State of Mind - Jay-Z and Alicia Keys
4. Sexy Bitch - David Guetta ft. Akon
5. Replay - Iyaz
6. Fireflies - Owl City
7. Whatcha Say - Jason Derulo
8. Do You Remember - Jay Sean ft. Sean Paul and Lil Jon
9. 3 - Britney Spears
10. Two Is Better Than One - Boys Like Girls ft. Taylor Swift
Off This Week- Already Gone - Kelly Clarkson
It was only a matter of time before Lady Gaga regained the number one spot, she dethrones last week's number one, Kesha. Apparently, Empire State of Mind continues to rise, at an all-time high fo #3 now. Similarly, David Guetta moves up to an all-time personal high, Sexy Bitch to #4. Former numbber one songs Replay, Fireflies, and Whatcha Say all continue to drop down the chart. Do You Remember continues to slowly climb the charts, it's up to number eight. 3 continues to hold tight at #9, while the lon new top ten song this week comes from Boys Like Girls, it is their 3rd top ten song, along with The Great Escape and Love Drunk. Kelly Clarkson's Already Gone is FINALLY already gone.
The Top Ten Movies for the Weeked of January 1st (according to gross revenue)
1. Avatar
2. Sherlock Holmes
3. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel
4. It's Complicated
5. The Blind Side
6. Up in the Air
7. The Princess and the Frog
8. Did You Hear About The Morgans?
9. Invictus
10. Nine
I guess I can say shame on me for still not seeing Avatar, it continues to tear up the top ten. Sherlock Holmes continues to play the bridesmaid at number two. Alvin and company still sits at number three and I'm still wishing they'd go away. It's Complicated: the perfect romantic comedy for the older set, still sits at #4. The football hit The BLind Side is over the 200 million mark, now at #5. Up in the Air is looking for Oscars at #6. The Princess and the Frog continues to hang around at #7. I will say, I still haven't heard about the Morgans, but it's up to #8 this week. Invictus goes up a spot this week, the Damon and Freeman flick is now at #9. Nine rounds out the top ten, except it's no longer nine, but #10 on the list.
