Being a Raptors fan is no easy task, at all. With the franchises 15th aniversary upon us, a lot of years of mediocrity and frustration come to mind. Of course, when things go well, you have to embrace it, even if it means admitting your picks were wrong (I was 1-3 last week, only picking the blowout in Atlanta correctly.)
Last week started as expected. Toronto was edged out by the Wizards at home, or rather, Gilbert Arenas and Antwaan Jamison beat the Toronto, since they basically ran the gae with a little help from Caron Butler. That was followed by a completly disgraceful performance in Atlanta. Of course, that was the lone game I got to watch last week and it was the biggest joke. It emphasized the lack of defense point I made. Fortunatly, it looked like the team was able to overcome the performance to pull off big road wins in Washington and Chicago. Sure, the Wizards and Bulls aren't elite teams, but road wins are hard to come by for this team and their performances, particularly in Chicago, were impressive.
I will say, the win in Chicago was partially the fault of the Balls. At one point, Jarrett JAck tucked the bal under his arm and tied his shoe, WHILE THE CLOCK RAN. The ball was in play, but Chicago didn't have the sense to try and get the ball from Jack. Thumbs down to Jack for being cocky, double thumbs down to the Bulls for being stupid.
My Picks This Week
Another four game week is coming up for the 9-13 Raptors, and like last week I think it'll be a tale of two teams. Tonight is a sure win, taking on the hapless Timberwolves, a loss tonight would be a big problem. I feel good about a trip to Milwaukee tomorrow night, tab up a fourth straight and surprise win for the Raptors. The streak will end there, as home games against Hawks on Friday and the Houston Rockets on Sunday.
Tues. vs Minnesota WIN
Wed. at Milwaukee WIN
Fri. vs Atlanta LOSS
Sun. vs Houston LOSS
