NFL Weekly Picks: Week 15

It's been a rough year as far as picking games goes, last week was actually my third best week of the season and best week since week 3!! I hit 12 of 16 games correctly and would have done better if it wasn't for some teams (*cough* Steelers *cough*) who don't like to show up late in the season. In any case, this week I've startd 1-0 with the Colts over Jags. My remaining picks for week 15 are below.

Last week- 12-4
Season- 137-72

New Orleans 33 Dallas 24
It's not gong to be fun for the Boys tonight at the Superdome. The Saints always seem to have our number in NORMAL years, and this is likely the best New Orleans team in their history. Yeah, it's a must win game for Dallas and true, last year the Cowboys upset a top team (Giants) week 15 on national TV. It won't repeat this time though as the Saints win another shootout and Dallas drops to a depressing 8-6 (Weren't we once 8-3?!?!?!)

New England 17 Buffalo 13
Normally, I don't take weather into account, but it's going to be windy and possibly snowy by Lake Erie for this battle. The Patriots simply haven't looked very good lately and if they weren't playing a team as dismal as Buffalo, they would likely lose this week. The Bills proved last week how much they suck by barely escaping Kansas City. It won't be as easy this time around.

Arizona 33 Detroit 13
The Cardinals blew their shot at clinching the NFC West last week and now likely have visions of the 2008 Denver Broncos dancing in their heads. Fortunatly, their playing the Lions and shoudl dismantle them with ease. However, word of warning, Arizona always sleeps through December and htis game may be closer than the score I give indicates.

Cleveland 16 Kansas City 10 - UPSET PICK
As if this game has any meaning, give a slight edge to underdog Cleveland here despite going into the unfriendly confines of Arrowhead. If Mangini wants to save his job, he'll find a way to motivate his club to win this week. Todd Haley doesn't have that extar incentive in K.C.

NY Jets 17 Atlanta 6
Ditto the Buffalo game, it's going to be windy, it's going to be cold, and possibly snowy. It's also likely to come down to the gorund games, and I'm pretty sure Thomas Jones beats a what will likely be a Falcon running game without Michael Turner again. Get ready for a hard-nosed, grind out game won by the Jets.

Philadelphia 21 San Francisco 14
Do I have to repeat the above, the weather is going to suck. The winds will be swirling. This game has lots of meaning though. The 49ers are in a must win, the Eagles need to keep their hold on the NFC East. San Fran will keep this one closer than most people will think, but give the Eagles the W here.

Houston 41 St. Louis 14
Like a butcher slashing up a large slab of beef, the Texans are going to easily slaughter the Rams. Horray to Houston for easy December games.

Tennessee 20 Miami 17
This is going to be a fun game to watch. It's going to be Chris Johnson vs. the Ricky Williams-run Wildcat. Essentially, I'm going to take the NFL's leading rusher and a slightly better Vince Young over that stupid wildcat and Chad Henne. Tennesse stays alive in a huge win.

Denver 31 Oakland 6
Rivalry game or not, I think we're going to see typical Raider football at Mile High this week. There's simply too much on the line for the Broncos to fall apart back-to-back seasons, they should recover from last week nicely here.

San Diego 27 Cincinnati 21
I'm a firm believer that the Chargers are the AFC's #2 team, not the Bengals. In any case, I'll give Cincy the benefit of a doubt that they'll have momentum after the death of Chris Henry, they'll get that extra boost to compete in this game. I don't think it'll be enough to win, however, and San Diego edges them out to solidify the #2 spot and clinch the AFC West.

Baltimore 20 Chicago 3
Shall, I repeat the bad weather speil? OK, I won't but in any case, I wouldn't be shocked to see pick city here from Cutler. Chicago has looked slightly better the past couple weeks, but they can't compete with the lieks of the Ravens. A tough loss in Baltimore will put the Bears fate on ice.

Seattle 30 Tampa Bay 3
I'm feeling nice, so give the Buccaneers a field goal. That'll be well short, however, as the Bucs get slaughtered by a Seahawks team that thinks they're still in the playoff hunt when it reality they're not.

Green Bay 24 Pittsburgh 7
Bad weather, blah, blah, blah. In any case, the Packers should have no issues against a clearly finished and unmotivated Steeler team, regardless of the game being played in lousy conditions or in Pittsburgh.

Minnesota 23 Carolina 7
The fact that this game is the Sunday Night Football game is a joke. The Vikings fully recovered from their hiccup against the Cardinals wit ha blouwout of Cincy and should have no issues in tearing apart the Panthers.

NY Giants 28 Washington 10
Kudos to the Redskins for hirign a real general manager, but he can't change the team yet and the Redskins should be prepared to meet a hungry and willing Giant team that's in a must-win scenerio to jump into the wild card hunt. New York gets the job done in this one.
