It's another very early Monday Morning Quarterback (I'm just too lazy to do this after I wake up) and I'll have my reactions to today's game as well as a schedule for my blog the rest of this week.
NY Jets 19 Buffalo 13
As i said on Saturday night, the Jets just need Sanchez to hold onto the ball...or have him not on the field. In any case, New York's defense won them the game Thursday night and kept their playoff hopes alive for now.
Indianapolis 27 Tennessee 17
This was much better than the disaster from the previous meeting earlier this season, but the unbeaten Cotls prevailed. I do give the Titans props for their extraordinary attemtp to win ten straight, but it looks like no miracle playoff for you.
Jacksonville 23 Houston 18
Did I see a Rex Grossman sighting today? I think so, and it might be the last of him too. Sorry, but if Matt Schaub misses a game, I'd take 3rd stringer Dan Orlovsky over Rex Grossman......actually, maybe I'd just run the wildcat formation every play.
Denevr 44 Kansas City 13
I feel bad for the Chiefs' fans after this week. They are some of the best in the NFL and they have had to suffer through some hard times. Watching Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter slice and dice their defense today had to be unpleasant.
Oakland 27 Pittsburgh 24
Remember how I said the Steelers were done if they lost today? Well it happened and I confirm, the defending champs are finished. Props to the Raiders for showing up to play against the AFC North, , they also upset the Bengals and are 2-0 now agaisnt a tough division, with the Ravens and Browns to come.
New Orleans 33 Wahsington 30 (OT)
Wow, what a shocker here. How the Redskins lost this game I still don't know, but they did in fatc find a way to lose. Still, props to them for not embarassing themselves and double props to JAson Campbell. I don't blame him for the interception because the game shouldn't have gone to overtime, and he had maybe the best game of his career today.
Cincinnati 23 Detroit 13
Strangely, I didn't see a single highlight or stat from this game all day for some reason. Must have been a snoozer, but the Bengals did solidfy their hold on the AFC North and the Lions...well they were the Lions as usual.
Chicago 17 St. Louis 9
Yeah, the Bears won, but the fact that they only scored 17 on the Rams is a very bad sign. I don't blame Brian Urlacher for his criticism of the team at all and it's just incredible how backwards that Jay Cutler trades has gone. A disaster in the Windy City.
Carolina 16 Tampa Bay 6
A rather meaningless snoozer in Charlotte. Good news for Matt Moore, he won a game as a starting quarterback. Not that he did much, most of the props go to Jonathan Stewart, but a win is a win.
Philadelphia 34 Atlanta 7
Wow, I didn't think the Falcons would be THIS bad. You can't entirely blame Chris Redman, Jerious Norwood, and company here, the defense was listless for Atlanta and this game was over from the start. On the flip side, it was weird seeing Michael Vick throw a touchdown in Atlanta as an Eagle. I don't know whether to give him props or not, but I will officially say welcome back Michael Vick.
Miami 22 New England 21
Impressive effort by the Dolphins and this game really casts doubts about the Patriots. All of a sudden, they have lost three of four games and don't seem invincable. They may be the weakest divisiona leading team in the AFC after the Colts, Chargers, and Bengals.
San Diego 30 Clevleand 23
Ignore the score, this game wasn't nearly as close as the final indicates. To their credit, the Browns did score first, unfortunatly things went downhill from there fast. Hopefully, these "easy" games will go to San Diego's head as they play Dallas next week.
NY Giants 31 Dallas 24
I picked the Giants for a reason here. This game proves a valid point. The thing that seperates the Giants, Eagles, and Cowboys is a psychological edge. New York comes up and wins the big games when they need to. The Eagles win the big games i nthe regular season, but when it comes to big championship battles, they hit a wall. Dallas can't win any of these big games, they lack any type of killer insitinct or total heart for that matter. I was well prepared for today and I'm well prepared for the San Diego and New Orleans games. In my mind, Dallas' shot at the division is gone. I hope the Giants and Eagles have fun doign battle for the title.
Seattle 20 San Francisco 17
A pretty solid, back and forth battle out west in Seattle. The only thing this game really did was wreck the 49ers playoff chances and essentially give Arizona the NFC West title. Also, props to Alex Smith once again, he looked like a real quarterback again this week
Arizona 30 Minnesota 17
A very surprising result in the desert as the Cardinals looked liek the Super Bowl team from last year. Seriously, an excellant performance by Arizona and living proof that the Vikings can easily be beated by an NFC team. Hopefully, we will see these teams play a rematch next month.
OK everyone, here is the way the blog schedule is looking the rest of the week. For my facebook readers, it takes a few hours for my blog on blogger.com to go to facebook, so please be patient if posts are a little late.
