Fantasy Sports Friday

Not a whole ton to talk about this week on the Fantasy side of things, but after missing last week I'll get everyone up to speed on my fantasy teams.


Fantasy Baseball

Biggest news is coming from my IBL team as I made two big moves that have cnaged the look of my team. I kicked the draft off by drafting Matt Wieters, a move that I mentioned two weeks ago. Just a couple days later, I completed a trade with the Portland Raptors. I painfully said good bye to Jorge Posada, the team's starting catcher since 1999, dealing him to Portland for center fielder Franklin Gutierrez. It was a smart and necessary move, with Wieters on the team Posada became expendable and Gutierrez helps fill a huge hole in center fielder, he is a solid hitter with good fielding stats to boot. It also allows me to finally get rid of big center field bust Willy Taveras, who I am actively looking to deal after the holidays along with second baseman David Eckstein. I'm hoping to get low draft picks for both players.

I am also looking to quite possibly make a deal with the Gettysberg Generals. Right now I'm disclosing the specifics, but it would involve dealing a draft pick for a veteran player who would fill another lineup hole. More on this to come next week.


Fantasy Football

Last week, I played in the first round of the fantasy football playoffs against Vincenzo, a big South Division foe. To keep it short, I wa smoked, 181-108. My team wasn't great and I made blunders playing Jerome Harrison over Chris Jennings, Kevin Walter over Johnny Knox, and Reggie Bush was on my bench as well. However, it wouldn;t have made a difference, playing agaisnt 53 points for Brandon Marshall and 38 points for Chris Johnson, I had NO chance.

This week I wrap up the fantasy football regular season playing for first place against Team Fighting Polack. I'm 0-2 all-time against Polack and I'm looking for my second career postseason win. Here is how things matchup below....
