Decade in Sports: Top Ten Cowboys and Raptors of 2000's

Earlier this week, I wrote a post on the top ten Dallas Cowboys of the decade. Unfortunatly, my post did not loa properly an my work was lost. So, to make up, rather than do a long post for one team, I'm going to give my list of the top tne Cowboys and Raptors of the deacde, with a commentary following the list. The same will be done for the Flyers and Yankees, likely on Saturday. This will speed up my decade lists, since there other topics, sports and non-sports, that I want to touch on before New Year's. So, without further ado, here is the top ten Cowboys and Raptors of the decade.

Top Ten Dallas Cowboys of the 2000's
10. Flozell Adams
9. Terrence Newman
8. Marion Barber
7. Mat McBriar
6. Bradie James
5. Greg Ellis
4. Tony Romo
3. Jason Witten
2. DeMarcus Ware
1. Roy Williams

My list might draw some controversy. I am an adament hater of Flozell Adams, but when you anchor an offesnive line for an entire decade, it's hard not to include him. Similarly, there are players such as Terrance Newman, Marion Barber, and Mat McBriar that have not dominated throughout the decade, but rather have had some breakthrough seasons. Bradie James is an interesting choice and perhaps the most unknown player on this list, he's a favorite of mine for his big heart, journey from special teams star to starting inside linebacker, and loyalty to the franchise. Greg Ellis is anotheru nderappreciated player who was with the team the entire decade sans this 2009 season with the Raiders. Tony Romo and Jason Witten are without question the top two offensive players this decade for the franchise. Witten has more heart and determination than many players in this history of the team and is another season or two away from becomign the greatest tight end in the team's history. Romo is extremely underappreciated, if you watched the early part of the decade wit hquarterbacks like Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, and Anthony Wright, you grow to apprecaite Romo.

A huge debate at numbers one and two. I gave Roy Williams the top spot over DeMarcus Ware for longetivity, if Ware had a season or two more under his belt, he would be number one.

Top Ten Toronto Raptors of the 2000's
10. Jason Kapono
9. Jalen Rose
8. Anthony Parker
7. Antonio Davis
6. Andrea Bargnani
5. Jose Calderon
4. Alvin Williams
3. Morris Peterson
2. Vince Carter
1. Chris Bosh

The Raptors have really lacked big name players this decade, so this list required a little bit of digging. It pains me to include players like JAson Kapono and Jalen Rose, because they were busts for than anything, but Kapono was a brilliant three point shooter and Rose a leading scorer between the Carter and Bosh eras. Anthony Parker is another player wh odisappointed a bit in my opinion, but he played better overall than Kapono or Rose. Antonio Davis was part of the team early in the decade that had championship potential (yes, championship potential) and complemented Vince Carter. I included Bargnani and Calderon as players who have done well their first few years and have potential, (yes even Bargnani). Alvin Williams and Morris Peterson are again big names from the early decade teams, with PEterson having more longetivity than anyone above him. Of course, the top two are Vince Carter and Chris Bosh. Bosh is number one due to longevity and loyalty to the team, though this loyalty may be gone within a year's time.
