It may be very early Monday morning, but indeed, here is the first issue of Monday morning quarterback, where I'll give very brief observations on the 15 games played so far in week 12.
Green Bay 34 Detroit 12
I give props to Stafford for going out and playign with his non-throwing shoulder seemingly danglingly off his arm. Than again, when you throw four picks, maybe it isn't such a good idea. By the way I thank the Lions for entertaining me with their poor performance as usual on Turkey Day and congrats on another losing season guys.
Dallas 24 Oakland 7
I found myself angry at the Cowboys for much of the game. After a few days of reflection, I realized that they actually played good. Not great, just good. I think my anger is still stemming from that Redskins debacle, I'll be back to by overly optimistic self for the Giant game without a doubt.
Denver 26 NY Giants 6
Speaking of the Giants, what a disgusting performance against the Broncos. Denver is good, but cut me a break, New York looks like their pre Super Bowl XLVII selves again. Not that I'm complaining.
Buffalo 31 Miami 14
Nice to see you finally come out of the woodwork Terrell Owens. It's a few games too late for your Bills unfortunatly. And thumbs down to Ricky Williams for doing a bad Ronnie Brown impression on the interception.
Seattle 27 St. Louis 17
Smallest crowd for the Rams since they moved to St. Louis. Better step up your game, guys, or you'll go the same way as St. Louis' last NFL team (Cardinals 1960-88).
Philadelphia 27 Washington 24
Living proof of why the NFC East sucks so badly this year. This game was nearly as bad as Cowboys-Redskins last week except the teams actually scored points. Hey Washington, if you guys would actually play the last five minutes of the game, you might be at least 5-6.
Atlanta 20 Tampa Bay 17
Props to the Falcons for pulling out a win with half of their starting lineup on the mend. And thumbs down to the Bucs for blowing what you have been a win. Good news Tampa Bay, you're still undefeated this year with Bucco Bruce on your helmets.
Indianapolis 35 Houston 27
Surprise, surprise, the Texans blow another lead against the Colts and lose the game. If I were a Houston fan, I'd be hitting my head on a table too. Same old story for the Texans, different day.
Cincinnati 16 Cleveland 7
It takes guts to go 6-0 in a division like the AFC North and the Bengals pulled it off. Then again, is beating the Browns twice a year really that difficult? Didn't think so.
NY Jets 17 Carolina 6
And here I thought Jake Delhomme turned a corner, but in the end he loses another game for the Panthers. Good job to MArk Sanchez by the way, for only throwing one interception. One step at a time, kid.
San Diego 43 Kansas City 14
Wow, are the Chargers really 8-3?? All this talk about the Colts and PAtriots and people tend to forget that San Diego is a pretty damn good team. Watch out for these guys come playoff time.
San Francisco 20 Jacksonville 3
What happened Jacksonville? Surely the 49ers defense isn't as good as that three on the scoreboard indicates, right? This maybe living proof that the Jags don't belong in the playoffs.
Tennessee 20 Arizona 17
OK, I give up, I'm on the Titan bandwagon now. Though I'll admit I would've picked Tennesse to win if I knew Warner wouldn't play, but to be fair, I didn't give Vince Young a chance and he has proven me incorrect. I'm kind of rooting the Titans to a playoff spot now at 10-6, what a story it would be.
Minnesota 36 Chicago 10
To be fair to Jay Cutler, he only thre TWO picks today and completed 23 of 28. However, to be fair overall, Brett Favre looks like he did when he won the MVP in 1996? 1997? I hate the Vikings to death this year, but they are pretty legit. Meanwhile, the 2009 Bears are officially dead now. See you next year.
Baltimore 20 Pittsburgh 17 OT
What a game this was. It looked like Dennis Dixon had a win wrapped around his finger in OT, but he essentially blew it with that intercption and now Baltimore and Pittsburgh are both tied for the final wild card spot with the Jaguars. Yikes.
One last thought: Extra Congrats to the Colts, in less than 24 hours you should be the final undefeated team in the NFL. Once Belichick and Brady get to the Saints, the throne will be all yours.
